It is our principle to start each and every therapy with a personal conversation. We believe that expert consultation should be free for the patient. You are welcome to bring a companion, for example, your partner to this important appointment.
In principle, you do not have to do or bring anything. We make a panoramic x-ray of your teeth (covered by Austrian insurance/ e-card), and in more complex cases, we’ll take a digital volume tomography (DVT). We have our own DVT-device, and are able to perform exact three-dimensional treatment planning. This significantly increases the precision of the implantation and minimizes treatment risks.
There is a huge number of implant manufacturers around the globe. We use only implants from manufacturers with over 50 years of experience and the best possible guarantee for patients. The differences arise from the purity of the titanium, the most innovative concepts and above all the question: Would we as dentists use this implant for ourselves or not? One should not forget that the implant becomes part of the body – what we as specialists do not want in our body, our patients do not get. In this point, we are uncompromising, and our advice is: Do not look for the cheapest implant, but the highest quality at the fairest price!
Every patient is individual – every mouth is different. You will receive tailor-made cost estimates from us, so that you are always fully informed about of the costs. Since we are a specialized practice for implants and are among the European practices with the highest number of implants placed, we are able to use our purchasing volume to calculate particularly attractive prices for our patients.
A single implant is placed in 3 to 5 minutes. Here, the routine of the specialist plays a big role. In general, 4 to 8 implants rarely take more than 20 to 30 minutes to be inserted. 99% of our patients only require local anesthesia – if needed, we can offer general anesthesia as well.
Generally, implants in the mandible (lower jaw) take two months, in the maxilla (upper jaw) three months for integration – that’s the time after which most of the final dental work is placed. In the meantime, provisionals will be provided.
An immediate implant is the most modern form of implantology. Here, after careful removal of the tooth, the implant is inserted into the existing tooth socket (“hole” in the bone). The procedure is extremely gentle, takes only a few minutes and saves additional intervention, trips to the dentist and costs. Whether such an immediate implantation is feasible must be decided individually.
Nowadays, a diabetic whose blood sugar has been well controlled under medical supervision is mostly a normal patient for implants. The scientific results show that the success rates of implants are excellent in diabetics and that nothing stands in the way of implantation. Ideal oral hygiene is needed.
Nowadays, a large part of the population is on some sort of anti-coagulant therapy (taking medication such as Marcoumar, Plavix, Sintrom, Thrombo Ass, Xarelto, Pradaxa, Lixiana, etc.). An interruption of this therapy is usually not necessary. If necessary, we will consult with your GP and decide individually.
