Implantology

Prof. Tepper has been teaching implantology worldwide for over 20 years. We offer a broad service-palette in all fields of dentistry, as well as surgical treatments under general anesthesia. We have at our disposal 6 state of-the-art, fully equipped treatment rooms, 2 sterilizers with digital documentation to exceed legal hygiene standards, and carefully trained staff.

Implant consultation – how does it work?

Our patients often say that they decided on us because we provided them with the most thorough and accurate advice to solve their problems. Our highest maxim is that each therapy begins with a personal conversation. We believe that expert advice should be free of charge for the patient. Your companion/partner is welcome to accompany you at this important first consultation.

Which tests need to be run?

Apart from your ecard, you don’t have to bring anything with you. We make a panoramic x-ray of your teeth (with costs covered by the your e-card insurance) and in more complex cases, we’ll make a digital volume tomography (DVT). We have our own DVT-device at our practice and can therefore carry out accurate three-dimensional treatment planning. This significantly increases the precision of the implantation and greatly minimizes any risks involved.

Are there different kinds of implants or are they all the same?

There exists a great number of implant manufacturers worldwide – we only use implants bought from the two leading global companies, which have gained over 50 years of experience and can offer the best guarantee for patients. The differences in quality lie in the purity of the titanium and the degree of innovation. Above all, we ask ourselves: would we as dentists feel comfortable using this implant for ourselves or not? The implant becomes part of the body – that which we as specialists wouldn’t accept into our own bodies will also not be implanted into our patients’ bodies. We are uncompromising when it comes to the quality of the implants we choose, and our advice is always: don’t look for the cheapest implant, but the highest quality at a fair price.

The cost issue

Every patient is individual – every mouth is different. You will receive a tailor-made quotation from us, based on your individual needs and wishes, so that you’re always clear about the costs involved. Since we represent of the European specialist implant practices that places the highest number of implants per year, we are able to use our purchasing volume to calculate particularly attractive prices for our patients. Costs can in turn be claimed sometimes by your (private or public) medical insurance company and also sometimes by tax (as an extraordinary burden). Reimbursements from these institutions are different for each individual patient’s case.

How long does implantation take?

A single implant is placed in 3 to 5 minutes: the specialist’s individual routine plays a big role in the exact timing. In general, inserting 4 to 8 implants rarely takes longer than 20 to 30 minutes. 99% of our patients only require local anesthesia – where necessary, however, implants can be inserted under general anesthesia with the guidance of an anaesthetist.

How long does it take for the entire therapy to be completed?

After the quick implantation, implants in the mandible (lower jaw) need two months, and in the maxilla (upper jaw) three months to be integrated fully into the body. During this time, patients are provided with provisionals.

What is an immediate implant?

An immediate implant is the most modern form of implantology. Prof. Tepper has given hundreds of lectures and presentations to professionals worldwide on his speciality, the topic of immediate implantation, flying around the globe for this purpose.  According to this method, the implant is instantly inserted into the existing tooth socket (“hole” in the bone), directly after careful removal of the tooth. The procedure is extremely gentle, takes only a few minutes and saves the patient additional intervention, trips to the dentist and costs. Often, dreaded bone augmentation resulting from implantation can be avoided through use of this method. Whether immediate implantation is feasible for certain individual must newly be decided upon from case to case.

I have diabetes, is this an obstacle?

These days, a diabetic whose blood sugar is kept well under control through medical supervision is simply a normal patient for implants. Scientific studies show that success rates of implants in diabetics are excellent and that the diabetes poses no obstacles to implantation. Over the years, we have treated hundreds of diabetics with implants.

There are only two questions to ask

With regard to getting implants

1) Who is the implantologist?

Who is the implantologist in terms of their experience, education, training and reputation?

Prof. Tepper, who was trained both in Austria and in the USA, is a global lecturer and teacher with over 20 years of experience and thousands of successfully placed implants, an author of scientific articles and a contact person of the industry in product development. In his opinion, true implantologists are only those who implant every day for a living, and who permanently improve their skills, research and teach in the field – those who develop the field further.

2) What kind of implant is used?

Among thousands of manufacturers, there exist great differences in implant quality. Not all manufacturers invest equally in research and documentation. Prof. Tepper is a trainer for worldwide leading systems and in a single, detailed personal consultation, he can introduce you to the ideal implant for your particular case.
